I was born in the Nature on the countryside and it was from it that I fed my absent-minded days of childhood. When I was taken away from it and moved into a city, I really missed it. Possibly, that was the reason why I started to paint and search in the scope and appearances of colours, searching for what my surroundings didn´t offer me. Even so, I couldn´t find myself. It was necessary to let the time pass by and return to Nature in order to give my continuous playing with colours a different sense and finally also to find myself in this activity.

And now, after an extended going and coming between the countryside and the city, here I am again in the Nature, but this time in a surrounding full of contrasts, hard as well as refine. I feel myself inside the murmur of the wind and the changing of the days, among the essences of
lavender and millenary oaks-trees, always waiting for the silence and to be able to put the things in
their right place and order or maybe just waiting for the sounds produced by it.

But, as somebody has said: ”time goes and comes again and again”, and now it is the moment for
a short break in the shade to meditate on what has so far been done or to forget about it. I don´t
know. It is like sitting on a flight of stairs, like in the poem “ Itaca” by Cavafis slowly postponing our
arrival and finding pleasure in the trip to Itaca that we all bear inside us. Perhaps looking back at
the path walked so far can help us see the footprints left in the works; only this: my own footprints.

What else are we? Only erratic travellers in quest for the magic moment of a sound, a colour or a
word that could make us feel alive and able to experience the warm humidity in a quite unknown
corner of our soul.

My work is the meeting point between the emotions and the energy. It is the place where emotions
melt and the most intimate feelings flow with energy from things and people; from nature, from
what is alive. We have to see it with our soul and heart, rather than with analytic eyes.
We must allow ourselves to be penetrated by the colours and the shapes as if they were strong
musical notes or as if they were poetic verses full of passion and feeling.

That’s it, I work in the world of painting, engraving, photography and sculpture. Needless to say
that I do it with an enormous passion and intensity. I´m especially interested in using recycled
paper and lately I´m focussing on engravings called “Mixografía”, by me called “Calco relieve”.
Photography has also become an important part of my work. I care for what is happening in the
world as well as what is done to it. I like poetry and music and I love travelling. I´m happy in the
company of my grand children and my family and I adore life.

There is a world that fascinates and deeply motivates me. When I travel my aim is to let me be
impressed by the people and places I visit. Landscapes full of life or static in their sublime serenity
make me retain the emotions experienced in paintings or photography according to the moment
and the circumstances. These works, paintings and photographs, express the concentration felt
during my wanderings around the world. They are not simple travel sketches but could be seen as
the film of my feelings, of the direct contact with the countries visited and the mixing with the local
people.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. HARMONY - BALANCE
My respect for our planet, the Earth, and the life that develops on it. Ethical commitment from each
of us towards that balance and harmony.
REUSAGE-RECYCLING My ethical commitment turns into a permanent attitude to find the
balance and the harmony between my activity and my surroundings; something like a Pantheistic
or a Zen attitude that tries to combine material development and spiritual life. That is: Conscience
and “TO BE”.
From the point of view of plastic work (art), my commitment starts with the material I use. Recycled
paper and not only used as a base but as the main ingredient of my work too. All my exhibited
pieces of art (on this occasion) are produced with this material to which I have only added some
pigment, sand and other reused items. The final result is a conglomerate of plastic where textures,
colours and content appear in suggestive and natural harmony.

And again changes come imposing and I leave the Castilian plane to settle in Andalucía, on the
Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, letting my retina and my skin be filled with marine breeze,
with bright and intensive blues. Living in a region with a very especial type of colourful people, I let
the wind called “Terral“ shape my actual paintings following its own wish and in its own way.

STATEMENTS.
Between a pictorial romanticism and social protest, between natural and human events. My plastic
language is rich, besides a conceptual idea as it happens in the majority of contemporary art, it
embraces passions, emotions, events and strong impacts from the nature. Literary creations either
from poetry or music, places and cultures that I find around the world. All this is part of the leitmotif
of my work. Sometimes they are implicit other explicit, but they are always there based on a
plastic language, joining different technics and materials, but with a result which does not neglect
beauty, harmony or expressivity.
